(Un)wanted Furniture
Brief:
The reasons for discarding furniture are the most varied, ranging from the functional to the aesthetic. However, very often much of the furniture may not become waste, but can be fixed, refurbished, or transformed into new objects in simple steps. Our idea came from the Italian word “rivestire” (literally wrapping or dressing up), which suggests not only to cover something we no longer like aesthetically, but to treat the object as if it was a person, giving it a new identity trough dresses. We made our cover using recycled materials: plastic bags that fused together create a dress that is resistant, waterproof and that communicates sustainability.
